Bookkeeper

Bookkeeper – Nottingham NG4 | Up to £28,000 | Full-Time | Permanent | Fully Onsite

We are pleased to be recruiting on behalf of our client—an ever-expanding, well-established business based in NG4, Nottingham – who are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper to join their team on a permanent, full-time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with strong technical expertise, a proactive approach, and excellent organisational skills. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse portfolio of clients, handling both sides of the ledger, VAT returns, and various bookkeeping tasks.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintain accurate bookkeeping records for a diverse client portfolio
• Work across multiple bookkeeping packages (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage 50)
• Prepare, review, and finalise VAT returns
• Handle CIS returns and ensure full compliance
• Assist with early-stage accounts preparation and prepare management accounts
• Liaise directly with clients to resolve queries and provide financial insights
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth workflow and client satisfaction
• Take ownership of your own workload and prioritise tasks effectively

Requirements:

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a bookkeeping role (ideally within practice or similar environment)
• Proficiency in Sage 50 and other packages such as Xero and QuickBooks
• Sound knowledge of VAT regulations and CIS returns
• Excellent attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Confident working independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication skills and a proactive, client-focused attitude
• AAT qualification or equivalent experience is desirable
