Great agency one of the best ones I've worked with! Liz has been a great help and support in helping me towards a new direction in my career life. She is very attentive and keeps me in the loop at all times! She makes the extra effort to work with my preferred requirements for work and even if it isn't completely attainable she meets me in the middle and does as much as she can to help! Finance Assistant | Derby | Permanent | Full-Time | Salary up to £28,000 | Fully Onsite

Astute Recruitment are proud to be working with a well-established national company, with offices based in Derby, to recruit a Finance Assistant.

This permanent, full-time Finance Assistant role is fully onsite at the company’s Derby offices and offers the chance to join a supportive and dynamic finance team. You’ll gain exposure to a wide range of accounting and finance activities, making this a fantastic opportunity to develop your career in finance.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Handling sales ledger tasks, including invoicing, payments, and credit control
  • Processing purchase invoices and employee expenses and managing supplier payments
  • Maintaining accurate cashbooks and bank reconciliations, including inter-company transfers
  • Supporting month-end and year-end accounting processes
  • Assisting with stock order processing and sales order management
  • Helping improve internal systems and processes to ensure accurate financial records
  • Providing ad hoc support across the finance team and assisting with audits

Who we’re looking for:

  • Experience in a similar finance or accounting role, ideally in a busy office environment
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Good organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks
  • Confident communication skills, both written and verbal
  • A proactive, team-oriented approach with the ability to work independently when needed
